In a country house in Russia, two boys, Antón and Zhenya, shoot with their compressed air rifles at some bottles. Suddenly, Anton shoots a cat, which leaves Zhenya shocked. Their friendship begins to resent. That night, Antón's father takes them to the river and remembers his own childhood, when he built a shelter in the forest with a friend. At nightfall, Antón tries to reconcile, but Zhenya rejects their friendship. The next day, at the bus stop, they say goodbye without speaking, with a silence full of unexpressed tension and guilt.
